Janine Popick is the CEO and founder of VerticalResponse, a leading provider of self-service email marketing, online surveys and direct mail services empowering small businesses to create, manage and analyze their own direct marketing campaigns.

She is a columnist for Inc.’s Girl Power: Female CEOs and has been featured in USA Today, Entrepreneur Magazine, ClickZ, B2B Magazine, Selling Power Magazine, San Francisco Business Times, and Inside Direct Mail. She has been an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist 2006-2009, and won the Stevie Award for Best Entrepreneur of the Year (2008).

Janine brings over 17 years of experience leading direct and Internet marketing programs for some of the biggest brands in technology and entertainment. Prior to VerticalResponse, Janine lead direct and Internet marketing programs for brands including NBC Internet; XOOM.com; Claris Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of Apple Inc.; and Symantec Corporation.

In her spare time, Janine is VerticalResponse's CEB (Chief Executive Blogger) for the VerticalResponse Marketing Blog for Small Businesses.

Janine holds a Bachelor's degree from Hofstra University in Communications and English. She has been a private investor and serves as an advisor and board member for various companies

Chief Operating Officer

As Chief Operating Officer, Dave is responsible for finance, accounting, and administration, including legal, human resources and facilities. Dave brings over 17 years of high technology financial experience to the company. He began his career providing assurance and business advisory services to both private and public companies, primarily while with Arthur Andersen in San Francisco. He then went to work in Corporate Finance at SGI, and later, Travelocity, one of the most popular online travel services providers on the web. He comes to VerticalResponse from Informative, Inc., a provider of interactive online tools that identifies top customer priorities, where he served as the Chief Financial Officer.

Dave holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business/Economics from the University of California at Santa Barbara and is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Valuation Analyst.

Vice President, Product Management

As Vice President of Product Management, Josh is responsible for driving new development for our products and services.  Josh lives in a "customer-centric" world and is wholly committed to providing value-added functionality and feature enhancements to meet our customer's needs. His mantra: “A Product For The People, By The People.” In addition to his Product Management duties, Josh also oversees our Customer Relations and ISP Relations Departments.

Prior to VerticalResponse, Josh worked at NBC Internet within the direct marketing group (NBCi Direct). In addition to supporting an online directory of over 300,000 small businesses, he also played a pivotal role in the production and deployment of targeted email marketing campaigns.  During his tenure, Josh contributed to the rapid growth of NBC Internet's small business customer base.

Josh holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and English from the University of Vermont.

Vice President, Engineering

As Vice President of Engineering, Jonathan is responsible for all product development, IT and hosting operations.   While not claiming to have invented the Internet, Jonathan has been building highly scalable, robust and reliable high volume Internet B2B and B2C applications for the last 10 years as well as spending 10 years before that building mission-critical financial systems used by major banks worldwide.

After working in fields ranging from Artificial Intelligence to content syndication to market research, Jonathan is relieved to once again be building an application that “his Mother could happily use”.

With Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in computer science from Cambridge University in England, Jonathan also brings a different accent to VR’s corridors and is delighted to be working with VR’s highly talented team of engineers.

Vice President, Business Development

As Vice President of Business Development, Alan is responsible for the development and growth of the VerticalResponse partner programs. Alan brings more than 10 years of experience leading international and US based direct sales and channel teams. Leading Business Development, Alan is tasked with managing the rapidly growing partner and developer base, as well as forging deep strategic alliances with some of the world’s most prevalent organizations on the web.

Prior to VerticalResponse, Alan was the Director of Worldwide Business Development for Mercado, a leading eCommerce product discovery solution provider where he was responsible for growing and managing the ecosystem of partners in the US and Europe, as well defining and executing partner integration strategy. Alan also has deep experience within the shopping comparison and online retail markets with tenures at NexTag and ConsumerReview, and embraces an entrepreneurial spirit having launched a successful digital music distribution start-up where his team was responsible for the acquisition and management of record label partners around the globe.

Alan holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and International Business from the University of San Francisco.

Vice President of Marketing & Sales

As Vice President of Marketing & Sales, Anthony is responsible for helping small businesses grow using VerticalResponse and keeping them happy once they’re on board. Anthony brings more than 12 years of experience leading marketing teams at various public and private companies.

Most recently Anthony led eHarmony’s Customer & Lifecycle Marketing group where he was responsible for all domestic and international customer and lifecycle marketing. Prior to that Anthony was Vice President of Marketing at H&R Block Consumer Financial Services, Vice President of New Customer Acquisition at Countrywide, and Vice President of Marketing at NationPoint.

Anthony holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California at Berkeley.
