VerticalResponse Enhances Target Marketing Capabilities With New Database Segmentation Tool

New Tool Enables VerticalResponse Customers to More Effectively Customize Direct Email Campaigns, While Continuing to Enjoy Same High Level of Self-Service, Ease-of-Use

San Francisco, CA - June 3, 2003 - VerticalResponse, a leading provider of self-service and customized direct marketing solutions, today announced its new Database Segmentation Tool, an intuitive and intelligent database management system. VerticalResponse customers - primarily small and medium size businesses - will be able to attract and retain their own customers more effectively by better matching email offers and other communiqués with the interests and needs of their target audience. The new tool, which is currently being showcased in booth #2127 at The Annual Catalog Conference 2003, June 1-3 in San Francisco, California, will be available for purchase by the end of June.

The Database Segmentation Tool compliments VerticalResponse's flagship product iBuilder, the company's web-based direct email solution. iBuilder allows users to build, control and measure the key functions within a direct email marketing program - from list management to the development of customizable, branded campaigns to email delivery to results measuring and reporting.

The iBuilder Database Segmentation Tool features numerous data segmentation fields, many of which are pre-built into the product, such as key demographic fields (e.g. gender, city, state, zip code, email address, web domain, web extension, etc.) and many others that are customizable based on customer-specific data (e.g. product ID/name, purchase price, price range, date purchased, date visited, etc.). The new tool allows VerticalResponse customers to query according to either a specific list or a previously distributed email campaign.

The new Database Segmentation Tool is uniquely built directly into the interface of iBuilder, allowing customers to quickly and easily build a distribution list based on responders to a previously mailed campaign. For example, a user can immediately identify who on their target list opened an email and clicked on a hyperlink within that email - as well as those who did not - and build a new list based on that information.
