NEW YORK – July 21, 2004 – VerticalResponse and salesforce.com (NYSE: CRM), the market share leader of enterprise application services that allow organizations to easily share customer information on demand, today announced the iBuilder® 5.0 is now a certified sforce solution. Tightly integrated with salesforce.com via the sforce on demand platform and immediately available to salesforce.com customers, iBuilder enables salesforce.com users to build, control, and measure direct marketing campaigns, including targeted email and direct mail, right from within salesforce.com. In addition, users can transfer response data from their campaigns back into their salesforce.com account to better track marketing communications. Over 300 salesforce.com customers are already using iBuilder today.
The VerticalResponse solution was announced today in New York at a global event celebrating salesforce.com’s latest Summer ’04 release, which delivers 100 new features instantly and seamlessly to all 10,700 salesforce.com customers and 161,000 subscribers worldwide.
Since sforce was launched little more than one year ago, salesforce.com has created an ecosystem that is significantly changing the way on-demand applications are built, just as salesforce.com changed how they are delivered. Today, VerticalResponse joins an sforce community of 3,000 developers, 750 enterprises and more than 100 ISVs who are using sforce to customize, integrate and extend salesforce.com to create custom CRM solutions.
Sforce partners expand customer choice by creating a wide range of new customer-centric solutions, including mobile applications, hosted vertical applications, voice automation, and specific device support. All solutions are built using open standards on the sforce on demand platform, one of the most widely used and broadly supported enterprise Web services.
iBuilder allows salesforce.com users to access tools that enable them to send professional looking email and direct mail campaigns from one easy-to-use interface. A user can launch iBuilder directly from their salesforce.com interface and pull lists from salesforce.com into iBuilder for immediate, targeted outbound communications. Once a campaign is complete the response data is easily transferred back into salesforce.com so a user knows who responded to each campaign and who did not.
“The partnership we have with salesforce.com has been very valuable to date,” said Janine Popick, CEO, VerticalResponse. “Integrating into a world-class solution has never been easier and their approach to fostering great partner relationships is unprecedented.”
The sforce on demand platform allows solution developers to customize, integrate, and extend salesforce.com to create sophistcated custom CRM solutions. In contrast to traditional packaged software, sforce allows developers to use the tools they already know and love from IBM [NYSE: IBM], BEA [NASDAQ: BEAS], Borland [NASDAQ: BORL], and Microsoft [NASDAQ: MSFT] to build CRM integrations and applications with record speed and success. Leveraging standards and technologies from the Service Oriented Architectures (SOA), sforce continues to demonstrate how the on demand platforms are a central part of the new enterprise IT strategies. Free access to the sforce community, as well as more information on the sforce Developer Program, is available at http://sforce.com.
