VerticalResponse Named One of Fastest Growing Companies in Bay Area

Outstanding revenue growth helps email marketer land 26th spot on list of high-flying firms

San Francisco, CA - October 13, 2005 - VerticalResponse, Inc., a leading provider of email and direct mail marketing services, was recognized as the 26th fastest-growing private company in the Bay Area at a gala awards ceremony held at the Westin St. Francis Hotel Tuesday night.  The event, hosted by the San Francisco Business Times, honors publication of the paper’s “Top 100” list, an annual effort recognizing firms with the largest percentage growth in revenue during the preceding two years.

To compile the list, the SF Business Times considered companies in the city of Palo Alto as well as in Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco and San Mateo counties.  Only companies that had been in operation for the three full fiscal years from 2002 through 2004 were eligible for the award.

VerticalResponse attracted the attention of the SF Business Times by posting a robust 163% percent growth rate for the 2002-2004 period. For VerticalResponse founder and CEO Janine Popick, the praise serves as welcome recognition of the progress her company has made since it was launched four-and-a-half years ago.
