On-demand Partnership Grants NetBooks Users 15% Discount on VerticalResponse Services
SAN FRANCISCO – October 2, 2007 – VerticalResponse, Inc. today announced a partnership with NetBooks, Inc. to fully-integrate its on-demand email marketing services into the company’s core product. NetBooks, launched September 5, is the first easy-to-use and affordable system for running an entire small business, and will hook into VerticalResponse’s email delivery, bounce/unsubscribe management, open/click tracking and much more through the VerticalResponse Application Programming Interface (API; http://www.verticalresponse.com/developer/).
VerticalResponse launched its API in April, allowing its award-winning self-service email marketing software to be extended and integrated into other platforms. The API allows businesses like NetBooks to hook into the robust VerticalResponse Email platform and extend marketing activities for not only themselves but also their customers.
“NetBooks is a fantastic new company, and it’s going to do great things for the way small business owners run their companies,” said Janine Popick, founder and CEO of VerticalResponse. “Because we both deliver our services on-demand, and have built our businesses specifically to serve the small business, it’s a perfect match. NetBooks offers CRM features, and as a core part of that their customers will enjoy not only the ease-of-use we afford to small businesses but also superb delivery of their email messages. Partnering through the VerticalResponse API allows us to do that seamlessly.”
Integrating VerticalResponse’s world class email marketing solution takes a single SOAP (web services language) call customary in most APIs. The API grants access to all the features of a VerticalResponse account, and NetBooks was able to create a personalized solution around them. The end result is the reliability and top-notch deliverability of VerticalResponse's email marketing platform, seamlessly incorporated into the capabilities of the NetBooks product, granting real-time access to new VerticalResponse functionality as it’s released.
“I’ve been using VerticalResponse for the email marketing needs of my olive oil company for years, and have been incredibly impressed,” said Ridgely Evers, small business owner for 30 years and founder and CEO of NetBooks. “At NetBooks, we only partner with best-of-breed companies that provide products and services of great value to our customers. I know firsthand that VerticalResponse does that, and backs it with the level of customer service needed when serving the True Small Business.”
VerticalResponse and NetBooks share strong emphasis on customer service. VerticalResponse continues to add social networking and other communications tools to encourage customers to learn from and share best practices among themselves, and is known within its industry for customer support. NetBooks not only brings complete business management software to the TSB market, but also backs it with personal hands-on support, including:
- Dedicated concierges, each with at least 10 years of experience working with small businesses, to assist with the transition to NetBooks
- Immediate access, directly within the product, to experienced support personnel
- Unlimited support access at no additional charge
The True Small Business Market
Both VerticalResponse and NetBooks were designed specifically for the 5.1 million owner-operated, self-funded companies that employ half of US workers and account for the majority of new job formation: the True Small Business, or TSB.
Software as a Service
VerticalRespone and NetBooks are both delivered on-demand, or as Software as a Service. The model grants real-time access to new functionalities as they’re released.
All NetBooks customers are granted a 15% discount on VerticalResponse’s services. Email creation, list building, list cleansing and campaign reporting are all a part of the service, and VerticalResponse requires no contracts or startup costs.
NetBooks is priced at $200/month for up to five users, plus a bookkeeper and an accountant. Additional users cost just $20/month each. Support is included, along with all current and future product functionality (with the exception of optional fees for services provided by partners). Customers can choose between quarterly and annual billing options.
NetBooks guarantees this price for the duration of the customer relationship. If NetBooks increases its pricing, existing customers continue to pay the old price. If NetBooks decreases its pricing, all customers automatically get the new, lower price.
