CEO of VerticalResponse, Inc. Janine Popick Wins Stevie® Award for Best Entrepreneur of the Year

Bay Area’s Fastest Growing Email Marketing Service Provider also Named Finalist in Three Additional Categories for the 5th Annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – November 17, 2008 – VerticalResponse, Inc. the leading provider of self-service email marketing, direct mail solutions and survey tools, took home the Award for "Best Entrepreneur of the Year" from the Stevie Awards for Women in Business on Friday, November 14. Presented by Infinity, the 2008 Stevie Awards for Women in Business is an international competition recognizing the accomplishments of outstanding women executives, business owners, and the companies they run. The awards are produced by the creators of the prestigious American Business Awards, hailed as "the business world’s own Oscars" (New York Post, April 27, 2005).

In winning the Stevie, VerticalResponse was up against other finalists including CEO Saskia Stick from International Checkout, CEO Deborah Theobald from Vecna Technologies, and Dr. Mary Wu from Wu Consulting.

Stevie Awards were handed out in categories including Best Entrepreneur, Best Executive, Lifetime Achievement, and Women Helping Women at the gala event at the Marriot Marquis Hotel in New York on November 14. More than 1,200 entries from companies of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted for consideration.

The Stevies is the second organization this year to recognize Popick for her excellence as an entrepreneur. Recently, she was named an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year finalist

In addition to winning the Stevie Award for Best Entrepreneur of the Year, VerticalResponse was named finalist in three other categories, including: Best Overall Company of the Year – Service Businesses – up to 100 Employees; Community Involvement Program of the Year; and Fastest-Growing Company of the Year."
