Build an Awesome Pinterest Community
Pinterest continues to be a player in social media marketing and we have several tips for building a thriving Pinterest community. Blogger Anna Washenko of Sprout Social recently shared 4 Best Practices for How to Build a Thriving Pinterest Community. Some of the tips Washenko advises include:
Use Group Boards
Just like playing pin the tail on the donkey by yourself isn’t any fun, neither is pinning interests if you’re not sharing them with other people. Washenko describes group boards as, “shared locations on Pinterest where multiple members can pin images.” Such boards help a company extend its reach and engage users on a larger scale by giving them an ownership stake in your brand’s Pinterest presence.
Repin and Reply
Don’t just use your boards as a place to display your own thoughts and content. Generously contribute to the Pinterest community by liking, repining and replying to anyone who takes the time to comment on a pin or board you’ve created. Communities are built through interaction, so stay active!
Give ‘Em What they Want
When you stumble upon topics or trends that lead to higher engagement, keep building on that success! Monitor your content for the biggest response and discontinue anything that’s not meeting your expectations. Washenko writes, “Fans will make it clear what material they want to see with their repins, comments, and likes. Provide them with more of the content they want, in turn, you’ll demonstrate that your brand is responsive to your followers and understands their priorities.”
There are tons of ways to use Pinterest for commercial, business or engagement purposes. Building an awesome, vibrant community is key to success in any of those categories. We’ve got a helpful guide to you get started, or learn new tips in this How Pinterest Works for Your Business guide.
