Facebook Promoted Posts – What the Numbers are Telling You [Video]
Earlier this year, Facebook introduced Promoted Posts. We’ve all seen them in our feed and maybe you’ve even taken them for a spin. But do you really understand what your Facebook Insights are telling you about posts you promote? And how do promoted posts stack up against un-promoted posts?
In this short video we share a behind-the-scenes look into our own Facebook Promoted Post experience to shed some light on whether Promoted Posts should be part of your social mix.

Thanks Derek, much appreciated

If you have budget I would do a little of both. Giving a boost to a post that is doing well organically will just take it to the next level. On your second question, just keep in mind that since Facebook has changed the algorithm for the news feed that your posts only hit about 5-8% of the likers of your page. So just because your post is not getting a lot of interaction doesn’t mean it’s not a good post. By giving it a boost you could see a huge increase in likes, comments and shares.

Sure Lindsey,
Send me an email to doverbey@verticalresponse.com and I will send you a version without my numbers that you can review.

What is your page Alison? I would love to take a look and help you out.
Derek
I love to give this a try but there is no Boost tab on my page! Any ideas?
You shared a spreadsheet with how you track your data – would you mind sharing the fields that you used for that?
That makes sense. Facebook has to make money some how, right?
I never thought about paying for a sponsored post. Thanks for the insights!
Would you promote posts that are already popular organically? Or promote the posts that aren’t doing well organically?
