Segment Your Lists

One of the main functions of the Segment App is, naturally, to segment based on the data in your lists. Any info in your mailing lists (first name, last name, first letter of email address, city, state, etc.) can be used for segmenting. Here's how:

1. Create a New Segment, name it, and choose the Segment List Members only option.
2. Now you choose the lists you want to segment, click Done, and then Add Filters to your search. You can chain as many filters together as you want. If you chain them using OR then you will find everyone in your list whose record matches any of your filters. If you chain them using AND, you'll only find those people whose records match all your filters.
3. To finish the process of segmenting, click Save & Get Results, then save the preview you'll see and choose whether you want to create one list or multiple lists from your segmented data.

Once you're done, the segmented list(s) will appear in the Mailing Lists area of your account and can be used for your email.
