How NOT to handle an email marketing unsubscribe
We were trying to unsubscribe from an email marketing campaign today and we were met with a terrible way to handle an unsubscribe:
- We couldn’t unsubscribe without telling them something – (Let me out please!)
- It tells me I’m on “Website Mailing List”, that’s helpful…not!
- One of the choices is “we no longer have access to email?” – (Um, how did we get this to unsubscribe from an EMAIL in the first place?)
- Not sure why “Can you please let us know why you are unsubscribing” is a radio button, what are we supposed to tell them?
